Ford Rolls Out BlueCruise 1.2 for 2023 with New Features

2022 Ford Expedition BlueCruise | Wexford, PA

Ford is launching the latest version of its hands-free driving technology with a trio of helpful new features. BlueCruise 1.2 launches with the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E and is expected to roll out to additional vehicles in the upcoming model year.

What’s new for Ford BlueCruise 1.2?

Ford is adding three new features to BlueCruise 1.2:

  • Lane Change Assist: Allows you to make a hands-free lane change by tapping the turn signal
  • Predictive Speed Assist: Adjusts speed at curves and gives advance notice so you know what’s coming
  • In-Lane Repositioning: More subtle lane adjustments to help you stay within the lines, which Ford says will be extra noticeable when driving next to semi trucks

Ford BlueCruise reaches thousands of drivers

Ford’s hands-free driving technology has accumulated more than 16 million miles of use in around 14 months, making it one of the most successful technologies of its type today. In July, Ford expanded the availability of BlueCruise to around 15,000 drivers with 2021 F-150 trucks and 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E electric vehicles.

Between vehicles with BlueCruise installed and those that have received it via Ford Power-Up over-the-air updates, some 65,000 drivers (and counting) are now able to drive hands-free in over 130,000 miles of Hands-Free Blue Zones.

BlueCruise is currently available on the new Ford F-150, Expedition, Mustang Mach-E, and F-150 Lightning. Expect BlueCruise 1.2 to bring this feature to even more key vehicles in the Ford lineup.

2022 Ford Maverick Named Cars.com Best of the Year

2022 Ford Maverick Wexford, PA

There’s arguably no new vehicle today that’s hotter than the 2022 Ford Maverick. The Maverick is winning over truck lovers (as well as drivers who never knew they wanted a truck), and it’s also scoring huge wins with critics and experts. Recently, Cars.com named the all-new Ford Maverick its choice for Best of the Year 2022.

“Not merely an affordable truck option, the Maverick is an exceptionally thoughtful, broadly appealing model that is significant enough among 2022’s new models that — for the second year in a row — we’ve named a pickup truck Cars.com’s Best of the Year,” wrote Cars.com’s editors.

There’s no shortage of points of praise for the 2022 Ford Maverick. Its low price and standard hybrid engine with incredible city fuel economy are certainly among those points, but there’s not enough that can be said about handy features like its DIY-friendly FLEXBED™, standard under-seat storage bins, and the Ford Integrated Tether System.

Ford has quite a hit on its hands with the Maverick thanks to all this, its city-friendly compact size, and a winning style that’s hard to ignore. This combination isn’t just racking up awards — it’s scored so well with drivers that it’s all sold out for 2022.

Fortunately, we have a limited supply of Maverick trucks in stock at Shults Ford Wexford in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. If you want to see what makes the all-new Ford Maverick the Cars.com Best of the Year for 2022, contact us to set up your test drive.

Ford Named One of America’s Most JUST Companies | Wexford, PA

2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E | Wexford, PA

Ford was the No. 1 overall brand in the automobiles and parts industry in the 2022 Rankings of America’s Most JUST Companies. This accolade reaffirms the Blue Oval’s leadership in environmental causes both in the automotive world and beyond it.

Not only was Ford No. 1 in automotive and 20th overall, but it ranked a full 10 spots ahead of the next automaker on the 2022 Most JUST Companies list. Just Capital, which compiles the list, ranks Ford No. 1 among automakers for climate change initiatives and No. 2 overall for pollution reduction and resource efficiency.

Just Capital notes that Ford uses the highest percentage of renewable energy of any automaker at 10% and also recycles 90% of the waste it generates. By 2050, Ford plans to be entirely carbon-neutral.

To get there, Ford is investing more than $50 billion in electric vehicles by 2026. That includes ramping up production of the mega-popular F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E as well as delivering innovative new EVs yet to come.

“At Ford, our goal is to create a positive impact on people and the planet. Because the future of this company centers on a purpose bigger than building vehicles,” said Mary Wroten, director of global sustainability and ESG at Ford Motor Company.

Ford Continues Water Leadership with Stream Restoration Agreement | Wexford, PA

Ford Restoration | Wexford, PA

Ford is a well-known leader in water conservation, having made the CDP A List for water security multiple times over the past decade. And once again, Ford steps up to help make our planet a better place with a historic new stream mitigation and restoration agreement.

In April, Ford and the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture signed an agreement to restore stream waters running through Lone Oaks Farm on the latter’s campus. The objective is to convert the 1,200-acre facility into a 4-H and STEM Education Center, helping students learn vital skills that will translate into a better tomorrow.

“Every year, UTIA provides valuable life skills as well as STEM education opportunities to nearly 112,000 students across Tennessee,” said UT President Randy Boyd. “Ford’s investment in Lone Oaks will ensure our 4-H programs will be able to expand STEM education to Tennessee students for years to come.”

Ford continually proves itself to be a leader in the auto industry when it comes to sustainability. Not only does the company plan to be fully carbon-neutral by 2050, but it’s investing in the development and production of world-class electric vehicles like the Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning.

New Ford F-150 Lightning Stands Up to Testing in Alaska

2022 F-150 Lightning | Wexford, PA

The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning has arrived at last, and it’s changing the way folks think about driving. We understand that you may still be on the fence about going electric because you’re not sure how EVs might hold up to Pittsburgh weather. Ford wants to put those fears to rest, and that’s why it put the F-150 Lightning through intense cold-weather testing in Alaska.

Earlier this year, Ford subjected the all-electric F-150 Lightning to low-mu testing in Alaska. This style of test shows how a vehicle holds up on icy, snowy surfaces as bad or worse than what you’ll find in Pennsylvania during the winter.

And thanks to its standard dual-motor 4×4 system, quick torque, and electronic-locking rear differential, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning aced low-mu testing in Alaska with flying colors. Over different types of ice and snow, the F-150 Lightning proved confident and responsive.

“F-150 Lightning in the snow is a very different ballgame compared to gas vehicles,” said Nick Harris, F-150 Lightning powertrain engineer. “The responses are extremely quick and the dual motors make it as if you have two engines pumping out power in one vehicle. A lot of our work is to coordinate the two motors to work together to best deliver torque to the ground so that customers who drive in the snow and ice ultimately feel very confident.”

Of course, you’re only just scratching the surface of what makes the new F-150 Lightning so amazing. Ford gives you the utmost peace of mind with an EPA-estimated maximum range of up to 320 miles as well as the most power and speed of any F-150 ever made.

Pair all this with impressive towing and payload capabilities, leading-edge techs like BlueCruise and Ford Intelligent Backup Power, and winning style, and the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is a can’t-miss everywhere from Alaska to Pittsburgh.

Want your chance to join up with the future of driving? Contact the Ford experts at Shults Ford in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and learn more about the incredible new F-150 Lightning.
