For several years now, Ford has been an integral part of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Ford often brings one-of-one vehicles to the show that are auctioned off for programs supporting up-and-coming aviators. And for the 2021 EAA AirVenture, Ford had a doozy in store: a custom Mustang Mach-E inspired by some of the bravest women ever to have wings.

Ford created a one-of-a-kind 2021 Mustang Mach-E customized in tribute to the Women Airforce Service Pilots. These women covered 60 million miles during World War II, transporting aircraft to bases around the globe.

As a tribute to the 38 Women Airforce Service Pilots who died in service to their country, the custom Mustang Mach-E auctioned at the 2021 EAA AirVenture bears the No. 38 on the front fascia, rear bumper, and in the cabin. This unique pony also features U.S. Army Airforce Star decals and a distinctive color scheme.

“It was hard not to get a little teary-eyed as we put the finishing touches on this vehicle,” said Kristen Keenan, a designer who helped create the Mustang Mach-E. “I have never worked on a memorial project before. Commemorating this group of women through the vehicle design was an honor.”

This rare Mustang Mach-E went up for auction at AirVenture’s The Gathering, and all proceeds went to help EAA’s goal of expanding aviation industry access for women and youths from underserved communities. Over the years, Ford has helped EAA raise more than $4 million for the cause.

This one-of-one Mustang Mach-E was sold to a lucky individual at this year’s AirVenture, but you can still fly high in your own performance EV. Contact Shults Ford Wexford in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to learn how you can get your hands on the all-new Mustang Mach-E.
