Let’s say you have planned to go somewhere—the mall, coffee shop, a friend’s house, whatever. It’s something you have been looking forward to for a very long time. You trudge through the snow out to Lincoln MKC only to realize that you forgot to remotely start your car! Now you’ve got to scrape all of the ice of your windshield, making you late and putting you in a foul mood for the rest of the evening.
Not anymore. Not if you own a Lincoln automobile and an Android smartphone. That’s because the Lincoln Motor Company is “the first automotive brand to launch an available seamless integration with Now cards in the Google app,” according to a press release from the automaker. This is achieved by the way of the free MyLincoln Mobile app.
If you’re wondering what Now cards are, Google says that they are are “short snippets of useful information” that appear “when you’re most likely to need them” and when “they’re relevant, based on things like the time and your location.”
Now, if you’ve scheduled your outing in your Google calendar, your Lincoln automobile will be nice and warm.
If you’ve heard anything about the new MKC, there’s no doubt it’s something good. In fact, recently the new model was recently named the Crossover Utility Vehicle of Texas. So it looks like the evidence is in: the MKC is one of the best crossovers on the market.
The Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) recently gave the prestigious title to the MKC during its annual Truck Rodeo, as well as the title Luxury Crossover Vehicle, according to a press release from Lincoln.
“These awards for MKC, following momentum from the all-new MKZ as the start of this latest chapter for Lincoln, demonstrate our plan is on the right track,” said Kumar Galhotra, President of Lincoln. “We’re encouraged that our latest vehicle has been recognized so soon after its debut at such an important and influential event.”
The TAWA focused on several features of the new MKC, especially its incredible performance, craftsmanship, and technology. The new model is surprisingly rugged and durable for a luxury vehicle. On top of that, the EcoBoost engine doesn’t sacrifice power for fuel-economy. It truly has it all.

The all-new 2015 Lincoln MKC is finally revealed, and the bar is set high.
The MKC represents a critical milestone in the company’s plan to expand its lineup and adopt a refreshed design DNA. Furthermore, it follows on the heels of the successful 2013 MKZ, which kicked off the brand’s new design direction.
This time, however, Lincoln is targeting small premium utility customers, the fastest-growing part of the luxury market. With that goal in mind, the MKC will almost certainly be a resounding success. Its sleek, sculpted body helps it stand out among the rest, the interior design is almost overwhelmingly pleasant, and the performance makes you reconsider everything you thought you wanted out of the engine and handling mechanics of a luxury car.
Of course, even the best materials and most elaborate designs would not be enough to make any modern luxury car adequate without a certain amount of technology, with which the MKC abounds. A state-of-the-art audio system, standard Blind Spot Information System, Lane-Keeping System, built-in connectivity, you name it. The MKC has everything it needs to keep passengers occupied, entertained, comfortable, and—most importantly—safe.
The downside? You’ll still have to wait to get your hands on one. Production isn’t set to start before the second quarter of 2014. We’ll start seeing the Lincoln MKC in our showrooms at Shults Wexford next summer. It’s worth the wait.
